The Les Voix intimes Festival is recognized as one of Europe's essential string quartet events. Based in Tournai, it is the only event in Belgium exclusively dedicated to this form of chamber music.
With four to seven concerts per edition, the city of Picardy has hosted no fewer than 125 prestigious quartets since 2002.
Although primarily dedicated to the string quartet, the festival regularly welcomes larger ensembles, regional and international soloists, opera singers, and actors. Among the festival's guests are pianists Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Eliane Reyes, and André Grignard; cellists Marie Hallynck and Camille Seghers; opera singers Eunice Arias, Clara Inglese, Virginie Malfait, or Guillaume Huybrechts; harpist Sophie Hallynck; and violist Simone Gramaglia.
Support for artists and contemporary creation, welcoming promising young European ensembles, fostering synergies with other artistic fields (dance, theater, cinema, painting), and ensuring accessibility for young people and vulnerable individuals are some of the festival's core values.
