Beatles Go Baroque

Debussy Quartet & Tournai Music Chapel

December 13, 2025, 8:00 p.m.

Maison de la Culture de Tournai

Returning to Les Voix Intimes, the Debussy Quartet joins forces with the Chapelle Musicale de Tournai and invites you to discover a repertoire as varied as it is impressive, combining arrangements of baroque music with the greatest melodies of The Beatles— Yesterday, Penny Lane, Yellow Submarine, Michèle, Let It Be, With a Little Help from my Friends, etc.

Venturing beyond classical paths by exploring pop-rock sounds with their bows, this is the ambitious challenge the Debussy Quartet has set for itself to properly celebrate these four influential figures who revolutionized the world of music in the last century: the "Fab Four" John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

Over thirty years of activity, the Debussy Quartet has been acclaimed worldwide (Japan, China, USA, Canada, Australia, Russia, South America, Europe), passionately sharing its musical interpretations on the most prestigious stages. Since the 1990s, it has continuously toured and garnered numerous accolades (First Grand Prize at the Évian International String Quartet Competition 1993, Victoire de la musique 1996, etc.). Committed to a vision of open, vibrant, and creative music, the four musicians promote the renewal of forms and build bridges with other musical genres (pop, rock, jazz, etc.) or other artistic fields (dance, theatre, circus, cinema). They train young string quartets through masterclasses, summer academies, or specialization cycles (Lyon Conservatory), lead workshops for children, and actively advocate for the inclusivity of all audiences (detainees, patients, etc.).
